Happy New Year

Bon Année (Happy New Year) friends and family. I hope you are well. I want to thank you for all of the prayers and support I have received this year.

Your partnership to make Christ known here in France means the world to me, and the Gospel is advancing because of your generosity. So thank you for giving this year and believing in me and the work being done in France.

Ministry

Language

I am officially in A2! What this means is I have advanced in my French language classes. This is a huge accomplishment for me, and I am so grateful for the time to invest in my language learning.

In addition, I have multiple opportunities to share the news about Jesus with my classmates in French. This usually happens when I present myself in class and share my interests about what I enjoy doing on the weekends. I always talk about church and how important Jesus Christ is in my life.

By doing this, it has led to deeper conversations and also learning how to speak about my faith in defining my purpose here on earth.

Although, I am navigating through 12 different cultures and languages, I hope to continue to grow deeper in my relationships with my classmates as we learn the French culture together.

While here, I'm involved in several different ministries. These include English Class, Bible Study, serving in the kids ministry at Le Refuge, and a language exchange that happens on Friday.

We also have different events every month, including study halls for the college students at our ministry building, bike repairs, and different holiday parties, as well as game nights! 

I love all of the areas I'm serving in, and I'm so grateful for the many opportunities I have while being in France.

Personal Update

I have officially been in France for over four months. First and foremost, I want to share how grateful I am for my team and the leadership I have here on the field. My leadership and team have walked alongside me in everything, and I have never felt alone while being in France. The support system I have is such a blessing because they are all people who see me, believe in me, and push me forward in confidence in what God has called me to do.

My leaders, Mark and Dalen, have also been so kind, and I am very grateful for them and their discipleship. They lead with humility and wisdom, and I feel so safe serving in Grenoble with their support.

Saying all of that, I want everyone to know that I am happy, safe, and I never feel alone. Although these four months have had more downs than ups, the one thing that remains constant and faithful are my teammates and leadership always being there for me no matter how big or small the challenges I face. 

I want thank you for taking time to read this letter. Truthfully, I am still struggling to figure out how to write and design my letters to you. I hope this format suits you well, and if you want any more specifics, please reach out to me!

This is M and the M’s! We all are sent out by River Valley Church! They are currently serving in South of France, and I hope to visit their ministries one day! I am so grateful to have some of my church family here in France.

This is our English Class Thanksgiving Party! We had a huge turnout, and it was a day full of laughter and fun!

I also want to say that I am so grateful for my roommate Katie. She has been such a stable friend during this season! Here is our Roomie Christmas Photo

I finally got to have the last food on my backlist to eat in France! This is called Aligot! It is just as good as it looks.

This is a cake my friend from Hungry and I made together. Sadly, this was the last time I got to see her because she had to move. K was the first friend I made here in Grenoble, so I was really sad to find out she was leaving. However, I hope to stay in touch with her as time goes on.

We said goodbye to our friend A as she headed back to Singapore a while back. Be praying for her and that she would continue to grow close to Jesus.

At our Language Exchange with P (in the middle), I call him my French Bestie! We are getting really close, and I am excited to grow deeper with him in our friendship!

I had the opportunity to go to the Christmas light show in Lyon. What I thought would be a wonderful experience turned into a "what is the purpose of humanity." It was very sad and a reminder that France in doing everything in its power to take Christ out of their history and everyday life here.

Katie and I have hosted many dinners! I don't have photos of the people we have spent time with, but here is one of the many taco nights we have had!

I think that is all I will share for now! I hope you enjoyed seeing a little bit of my life. There is so much that goes on that isn't "pictured," but know that God is moving in Grenoble, and I am so grateful for every person that I encounter while being here.
